Best Street Art in Melbourne
When people think of Melbourne, generally three things come to mind: coffee, laneways, and street art. That is obviously because street art is to Melbourne what Vegemite is to toast.
Where to Find Graffiti & Murals in Melbourne

1. Hosier Lane
Arguably one of Melbourne’s most well-known street art hotspots, I couldn’t not mention Hosier Lane. Sitting pretty opposite Federation Square and joining Flinders Lane with Flinders Street, the cobblestoned Hosier Lane attracts thousands of tourists and locals annually.

2. AC/DC Lane
The lane is named as a tribute to Australian rock and roll legends AC/DC (also referred to as AccaDacca in Aussie terms). As you might be able to gather by the name, this lane is an ode to all thing’s music. The lane is also home to the legendary live music venue, Cherry Bar.

3. Union Lane
Hidden just off Bourke Street Mall, you will find Union Lane. Take a break from shopping and stop in for a quick Instagram shoot before returning to the bustling hive of commerce, that is Bourke Street Mall.
4. Caledonian Lane
This little (no, really) laneway is just 4m wide (told ya) and runs between Little Bourke and Londsdale Street. Ever heard of St Jerome’s Laneway Festival? Well, this place is the birthplace of the now-international music festival. Cool right?!

5. Cocker Alley
Right by Federation Square sits Cocker Alley – a less-visited laneway that once featured the works of Banksy.
The little diver lived on a wall, surrounded by rats and rubbish, on the back of the Nicholas Building on the corner of Swanston Street and Flinders Lane. It was speculated that the graffiti artwork was stenciled by Banksy in 2003 during a visit to Melbourne.
But the famous artwork dubbed “Banksy’s little diver” was destroyed by vandals in 2008 (sad face).
